This summary is for orientation only — the full terms below govern.
Acceptance of these terms
By using lottiemax.com or the Lottie Max studio (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
What Lottie Max is
Lottie Max is a free, browser-based Lottie animation creator: a studio for drawing or
pasting SVG artwork, animating it, and exporting Lottie (.json,
.lottie) for use on the web and in apps. The website (lottiemax.com) also hosts
documentation, tutorials, and other content.
Lottie® is a trademark of its respective owner; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Lottie / LottieFiles brand.
Eligibility & age
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. If you're a minor in your jurisdiction, use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed at children under those ages.
No account, no sign-up
The Service does not require an account. Your projects are saved locally in your browser. You are responsible for backing up your work using the studio's backup & restore feature; we have no copy of your projects and cannot recover lost work.
Your content & rights
Everything you create with Lottie Max — shapes, text, imported SVGs, exported Lottie files — is yours. We don't claim ownership of, or any rights to, your content. We also don't have access to it: it lives in your browser.
By using the Service, you confirm that:
- You own or have the necessary rights and permissions for any artwork you import (e.g. SVGs pasted from a design tool).
- Your content does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- You are responsible for complying with applicable laws when using and distributing your exports.
Exported Lottie files include a small, non-watermark meta.g = "Lottie Max"
attribution. You may remove it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- create, store, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit involving minors;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disrupt the Service in a way that interferes with other users;
- scrape or repurpose content from this website in a way that violates applicable law;
- misuse any APIs or endpoints (rate limits, terms of any third-party services, etc.);
- impersonate Lottie Max or attempt to defraud users.
We may take any action we reasonably think is necessary to address misuse, including blocking access to the Service.
Free service, ads, and tips
Lottie Max is free to use. The Service is supported by:
- Advertising on the marketing site and on the studio's home page (never in the editor). Ad behaviour and the cookies it sets are described in our Privacy Policy.
- Voluntary tips, when we enable a tip option. Tips are non-refundable and do not entitle you to additional features.
A future paid tier ("Pro") may add optional features. If we introduce it, it will be clearly separate from the free Service, and these Terms will be updated.
Our intellectual property
The Lottie Max name, logo, marketing copy, the design and code of lottiemax.com, and the studio software (other than your content) are owned by Lottie Max and protected by applicable IP laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service or its assets without our written permission.
Third-party services
The Service relies on or links to third-party services (e.g. hosting providers, font hosts, analytics, advertising, payment processors for tips). Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
Service "as is" — no warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, to the maximum extent permitted by law, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs, that exported files will be compatible with every Lottie player, or that your locally stored projects will be preserved.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lottie Max and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or projects, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have actually paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) USD 50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations — in that case, the limits above apply to the fullest extent permitted there, and other liabilities remain limited.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lottie Max, its officers, employees and contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) your content, (b) your use of the Service, or (c) your breach of these Terms or any applicable law.
Termination & changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any feature) at any time, with or without notice. We may also block access to the Service if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached. These Terms will continue to apply to any prior use of the Service.
You can stop using the Service at any time. To remove your local data, clear your browser's storage for lottiemax.com.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll post a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Pakistan, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally.
